It is my pleasure and an honour to take over as Ladies’ Captain at Chesfield Downs. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and won’t be deterred by the challenging weather of this Spring.
The charity I have chosen to support this year is CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent provides financial, social and emotional support to young people (0-24 years) with cancer. They help these youngsters and their families in anyway they can through their cancer journey.
Our fund raising started in earnest with a ‘Charity Bag Fill’ scheme in January and Amanda Macknight’s annual ‘bring and buy’ coffee morning. We intend to continue to raise money throughout the year with our Pro and Captain matches, the Charity Invitation Day and ‘Toupee to Play’ our fun competition where we will compete for the Jubilee Jug.
On 17th April we will be holding a Clothes sale. Six of our lovely Chesfield ladies will be modeling the new season clothing that will soon be available to purchase from our Pro Shop. We will also have plenty of bargains and accessories on sale too. We hope that many ladies from different golf clubs will join us. The more the merrier!
2013 promises to be an exciting golfing year with plenty of cups and trophies to compete for, together with our monthly medal and Stableford competitions. We welcome all lady golfers. There is definitely something for everyone – from beginners to single figure players, from five-day members to seven-day members.
